Q Where do we do the photo session?
A I have scouted a variety of locations around Phoenix and Scottsdale - from graffiti walls to hiking trails. Together, we'll determine a location that best reflects your vision and the memory you want to create, including at your own home.
Q When do you do photo sessions?
A Maybe you've heard of the 'golden hour'? The best light is right after sunrise and just before sunset. That time changes throughout the seasons. Summer is not safe for our pets to be outside other than early morning shoots in AZ, so that is something to keep in mind. Just think of it as an adventure and getting up early for one morning will be oh-so-worth it for the images the light helps create! I can shoot some weeknights and on weekends.
Q My dog won't sit still/doesn't know commands. Can you still get good pictures?
A I photograph shelter dogs of varying levels of obedience, so have experience with figuring out what works. Generally, ensuring your pet is exercised before a session is helpful. The rest we will figure out; patience is the name of the game!
Q I don’t feel comfortable taking my dog off leash. Is that okay?
A If you’re not comfortable, I’m not comfortable. And that is not our goal! The safety of you and your pet(s) is of utmost importance to me. So how about we leave the leash on and I’ll dazzle you with Photoshop brilliance and take it right out of the pictures!
Q Do you only photograph dogs?
A I would be honored to photograph ANY of your pets! I have the most experience with dogs; however, have photographed cats and horses, as well. Open to anything with fur, feathers, scales and hooves...even extra legs!
Q How long does a session take?
A Typically, a session is about 1.5 – 2 hours of shooting time. By then, you and your pet will have had quite enough! If we are running around to a couple locations, we may go a little longer, but we will discuss the plan and you’ll know in advance about how much time to budget for outside of the norm.
Q How will I see the images and order products?
A We will schedule a time about two weeks after the shoot for me to come to your home for an in person Art & Planning session. This will be approximately 1.5 hours. I will have all your images prepared for review and we'll go through and select your favorites. In addition, I will have all my product samples so you can be hands-on in deciding what fits best with your decor.
Q Why don't you put your images online for me to see?
A I have found that my clients like the experience of seeing the products in person and appreciate being able to sort through the images with some guidance. I am dedicated to ensuring you get 'white paw' treatment and personal service that you won't receive elsewhere.
Q Do you have a studio we can come to?
A I do not. I prefer on site, natural light, so most of my shoots are outdoors. However, I do have equipment that allows me to become a sort of 'mobile studio,' so we can discuss what you have in mind.
Q Can I and/or my family be in the pictures, too?
A Of course! Basic session includes up to 2 pets and their person. Adding additional people (or pets) to the set up just requires a bit more work for post processing to ensure we get everyone looking the same direction, ears up, smiles genuine…you get the gist. Adding people and/or extra pets is $20 per joiner.
Q Do you do sessions specifically for terminally ill or senior pets?
A Yes, I do - they receive priority booking and the reservation retainer is $150 in these situations, which becomes a product credit just like a regular session. The product and pricing menu remains the same.
Q What are my payment options?
A I accept cash, check, or charge. If you need a payment plan to support your investment, we can work one out.
